Update from GUNAA President Melissa Bickham - Grambling Presidential Search
Below is a message from Melissa Bickham, president of the Grambling University National Alumni Association, regarding the University of Louisiana System Board's announcement of eight candidates for President of Grambling State University:

Since the beginning of the presidential search process, Grambling State University alumni from around the world have waited patiently for the UL System Board to move forward with selecting the next president of our beloved institution. We are confident the Board will select a leader whose vision, passion for excellence, and entrepreneurial spirit will help propel Grambling to higher horizons. As we move forward through this process together, we believe Grambling will emerge stronger and rededicated to the high ideals that have always sustained it, and, Grambling's resurgence will serve as a model for other institutions.

While the ultimate authority to select the president is vested in the UL System Board, Grambling alumni and supporters' involvement is vital to our success and to the future of our great University. As alumni president, I call upon each of you for your input and encourage you to bring your ideas and questions to the upcoming presidential search committee meeting June 2 - 3 on Grambling's campus during the Board's interviews with semifinalists. The UL System Board will announce the new Grambling President in a special meeting on Grambling's campus Thursday, June 4 at 11 a.m.

Finally, I want to thank our alumni community for their continued support and patience. Your engagement and active partnership are crucial to the future success of Grambling State University.

We are Grambling!
